Hertz and Shelby American Announce Three-Year Custom Car Partnership Beginning With Exclusive 2022 Shelby Mustang Models – PR Newswire | Car Plazas
The collection includes Mustang Shelby GT500-H Fastbacks modified to over 900 horsepower, as well as Ford Shelby Mustang GT-H Fastbacks and Convertibles, each specially designed for Hertz. The vehicles pay homage to the original “Rent-A-Racer,” the iconic 1966 Shelby GT350-H, and build on the Hertz legacy to provide customers with a unique opportunity to drive elite, high-performance vehicles that… they can’t access anywhere else.
The Mustang Shelby GT500-H will be available in Fort Myers, Las Vegas, Miami, Orlando, Phoenix and tampa. Mustang Shelby GT-H convertibles and fastbacks will be available in Atlanta, Dallas, Fort Lauderdale, Fort Myers, Las Vegas, los Angeles, Miami, Orlando, Phoenix, San Diego, san francisco and tampa.

Each of the 2022 Shelby Mustang Hertz models will be instantly recognizable with unique styling enhancements that celebrate a rich heritage of performance. Nineteen of the Shelby GT500-H fastbacks sport a shadow black exterior color scheme and six honor ones Shelby American 60th Jubilee, will be dressed in Oxford white. The Shelby GT-H Fastbacks and Convertibles will be available in Rapid Red Metallic, Oxford White, Carbonized Gray and Shadow Black exterior finishes. All are trimmed with gold “Le Mans” double racing stripes and a set of special rocker stripes, along with Hertz Edition and Shelby 60th Anniversary Emblems. Inside, there are Shelby and Hertz logos on the seats, door sills, and floor mats; There is a numbered badge on the dashboard and under the hood. The Shelby GT500-H’s supercharger is gold-colored for Hertz’s paint job.
Starting with Ford’s world-class Shelby GT500, the 5.2-liter fastback features 900+ horsepower, monobloc forged aluminum wheels, high-performance tires, tinted windows, Shelby GT500-H badging, driver and passenger side stripes and more. Shelby reduced 30 pounds by replacing the stock cowl with a vented, ultra-lightweight, dry carbon fiber that’s also much stronger.
As with previous models, the 2022 Ford Shelby GT-H will include a Borla performance cat-back exhaust for the 5.0-liter V8. Both convertibles and hatchbacks will have a staggered wheel set. The Shelby GT-H rides on 20-inch aluminum wheels with all-weather Michelin tires and also features a sweeping hood, upper grille, visor blades and taillight cowl with a unique Shelby design.
Shelby American will complete the cars at its assembly plant in Las Vegas and document it in the official Shelby American Registry. Limited production and intended exclusively for Hertz rental fleets across the country, the special edition cars offer Hertz customers a truly exclusive driving experience.
